Collective Communities | Ujima
A valuable learning from our participation in the tiny house movement over the last few years has been to build our own spaces when the existing spaces aren’t welcoming or safe, much like the principle of Ujima. Ujima is “collective work and responsibility.” Ujima is building and maintaining our communities together, solving our problems together.
In the spirit of Ujima we must be our sisters’ and brothers’ keepers, for the safety of all, so we’re standing on the wisdom demonstrated by our ancestors who, with the creation of The Green Book, learned how to safely navigate their travels in an unsafe world. Racism can’t be the reason we aren’t successful in these movements as tiny house dwellers, RVers and van dwellers.
In a 2020 twist we’re providing access to a “Black Book” of sorts, to better facilitate safe travels and for collective community. Select the link below for detailed information on Black owned RV Parks and Campgrounds, as well as information on meetup opportunities throughout the country.
Black lives and Black safety matters. We’re rooting for everybody Black!
